About Me:
Okay, so a little bit about me. I recently completed my BA in psychology in 2006. I also finished my MS in school counseling this summer! After that I plan on doing a myriad of crazy things like private practice, working in the public school system, and teaching at the college level. But all of that is another year away….
Until then I very interested in developig a more mature understanding of Integral theory and how it can help the American education system at all levels. My other primary interests include developing a life-long meditation practice inside the Integral framework, Integral psychology, and spirituality.
POINTING OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
“Before Abraham was, I AM. Before the universe was, I AM. This is my original Face, the face I had before my parents were born, the face I had before the universe was born, the Face I had for all eternity until I decided to play this round of hide and seek, and get lost in the objects of my own creation.”
Ken Wilber
“Just as the waters of the great oceans all have one taste, the taste of salt, so too all true teachings have but one taste, the taste of liberation.”
The Buddha

”You have to be somebody before you can be nobody.”
Jack Engler
“Life is this simple. We are living in a world that is absolutely transparent and the divine is shining through it all the time. This is not just a nice story or a fable. This is true.”
Thomas Merton
“Let's have a merry journey and shout about how light is good and dark is not. What we should do is not FUTURE ourselves so much. We should NOW ourselves more. 'Now thyself' is more important than 'know thyself.' Reason is what tells us to ignore the present and live in the future. We think that somewhere there are going to be green pastures. It's crazy. Heaven is nothing but a grand, monumental instance of the future. Listen, NOW is good. NOW is beautiful.”
Mel Brooks
“To enter one's own self, it is necessary to go armed to the teeth.”
Paul Valery
“All the harm, fear, and suffering in the world are caused by attachment to the self: Why should I hold on to this great demon?”
Shantideva

“It is as hard to see one's self as to look backwards without turning around.”
Henry David Thoreau
“For the meaning of life differs from man to man, from day to day and from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person's life at a given moment.”
Viktor Frankl
“Every one one of us is a mystic. We may or may not realize it, we may not even like it. But whether we know it or not, whether we accept it or not, mystical experience is always there, inviting us on a journey of ultimate discovery. We have been given the gift of life in this perplexing world to become who we ultimately are: creatures of boundless love, caring compassion, and wisdom. Existence is a summons to the eternal journey of the sage-the sage we all are, if we could only see.”
Brother Wayne Teasdale

“We all have the illusion that other people are going to make us happy, that they're going to make our lives work. Until we wear out that illusion, there will be no real solution. Other people are for enjoyment, not for any other purposes. They are part of the wonder that life is; they're not here to do something for us.”

“Creation is like a peepul tree: birds come to eat it's fruit, or take shelter under it's branches, men cool themselves in it's shade, but some may hang themselves on it. Yet the tree continues to lead its quiet life, unconcerned with and unaware of the uses it is put to. It is the human mind that creates its own difficulties and then cries for help.”
