I no longer have any doubts in my mind that the intentions of the Chinese government are not congruent with democracy, peace, human rights, civility, freedom, liberty, the Buddha, the Dharma, the Sangha, a free world, or progress.
The biggest news story this week in the US was definitely the economy which is bad timing for the Tibetans. The oversight and under reaction of the Bush adminstration with the Tibetan crisis has become a typical, business as usual blunder. Bush and his people have yet to get that burying their heads in the sand on issues that they don't care for has bitten them in the ass repeatedly. China has long been a missing member of his Axis of Evil. Appeasement will not be an option any longer for US foreign policy. A protest of the Bejing Olympics is definitely in order.
It is disgusting that the Bush adminstration can in the same breath support Israel and Kosovo, but side with the Chinese against Tibet.
An interesting story about how the CIA worked to preserve Tibet against communism and the Chinese.
